Last night I dreamt about sublimating crayons.
Or, I imagine I dreamt about sublimating crayons. I woke up thinking "hmm...sublimating crayons, what a neat idea!". As I slept, my synapses sparked in a strange way and produced this idea. Because my "post-waking-up brain" isn't that creative.
Imagine: crayons that become gaseous without ever liquefying! This is the stuff that scientists' wet dreams are made of! There would be a market for sublimating crayons in the non-scientific world as well. These crayons would not melt if put through the dryer or left out in the sun. With a zap of energy, sublimating crayons could "dissolve" into thin air. This would facilitate clean-up time in playrooms and daycare centres across the planet.
The only problem? I don't remember how to *create* sublimating crayons. It's possible my dream contained this knowledge. But by the time I had scratched, showered, and groomed, this knowledge had evaporated. And so I am left with a dream. A great dream that has no chance of being realized.
Of course, any scientists reading this are invited to turn my dream into a reality. I will not pay you. But you will have the satisfaction of a job well done. And really, isn't that the best reward of all?
